Join our Smart Infrastructure Division as Principal Design Engineer OR Senior Design Engineer to help us re-imagine the world by finding solutions and making the world a smarter place for tomorrow.

Siemens Digital Grid have secured a position on the National Grid 5 Year Light Current Framework, resiliently providing robust systems with the latest Siemens technology on new National Grid substations and extending the existing infrastructure. A safer and lower carbon project delivery footprint will be adopted.

This role allows you to be based anywhere in the UK, you could work remotely with occasional travel to meet up with your team in the Hebburn office. However, in the initial stage of joining the team, you would be required to be present at the Hebburn office for 2/3 days per week whilst training.

How you will make an impact:

You will successfully deliver; Transmission & Distribution protection and control systems with our end-customers from various domains & disciplines. You will provide pre-sales support to our sales and proposal teams and support the project manager and commercial team to deliver projects on target and within scope. - Provide innovative solutions as technical lead for protection and control on UK Transmission and Distribution network.

  • Ensure that Siemens solutions are compliant with the latest policies and standards.

  • Provide a high level of customer service to clients and maintain the highest standards of quality.

  • Sound problem solving skills, fault finding skills and analytical thinking.

  • Provide technical input for Sales and Proposals departments.

What skills and experience will you bring to the role:

  • Experience of National Grid delivery and specifications/standards are essential.

  • A minimum qualification of HNC/HND (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering plus extensive experience in the Electricity Transmission and Distribution Industry.
