Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Product Engineering Teams optimize existing products from information or input provided by marketing, customers, Operation Teams, Development Engineers or other employees. They maintain existing products, processes, and specifications including modifications for new applications consistent with manufacturing techniques and economies. They also initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, and cost, while meeting customer requirements and may support and implement product extensions to existing platform products to meet specific customer requirements. They are the key experts in the products they are responsible for at TE.

What your background should look like:

You'll be in charge of the following tasks :

  • Design and develop new products to meet Customer requirements from Customer RFQ’s. (Request For Quotes) to SOP (Start of Production).

  • Analyse voice of the customer (VOC) requirements and specifications.

  • Work-out product design proposals using CAD tools, at different development stages : Concept, Design, Development, respecting quality, cost and project deadlines.

  • Apply design verification tools such as worst case tolerances calculation, mechanical simulation,

  • Define DV (Design Validation) and PV (Product Validation) test plan.

  • Carry out design of prototype parts, CAD models and drawings. Follow up of rapid prototyping and pilot manufacturing.

  • Participate in product FMEA and Product Design reviews.

  • Be the technical interface for the internal and/or external production sites (suppliers).

  • Be the technical interface with the customer.

  • Execute of the product design technical documents (3D models, drawings, specifications, …)

  • Follow up of the product Test & Validation / Qualification.

  • Analyze dimensional reports

  • Provide production release

  • Support PPAP submission process.

  • Extensive use of collaboration to ensure project alignment with goals: interact with Sales & Marketing, Advanced Quality Engineering, Tooling, Manufacturing,Purchasing, Cost accounting, Test& Validation Lab, Model Shop, 3D Printing Shop, Advanced engineering, Platform Engineering, etc. as well as with Customers,Suppliers

What your background should look like:

  • Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, with a specialization in Product Design.

  • In depth knowledge of plastics material, injection molding, tool design, part design.

  • Proficient with CAD software: CREO is preferred.

  • Knowledge of GD&T drafting standards, DFMEA, and DVP, Test Plan Development.

  • Technical background in automotive or related industry.

  • Excellent French and English skills, written and verbal.
