The Opportunity

Williams International has an exciting opportunity for a Shop Hand to join our team. The Shop Hand will work within a team environment and be responsible for the operation of miscellaneous processes supporting the production team. Additionally the Shop Hand will also be responsible for ensuring the continuous flow of materials and parts through the assigned cell.

The Shop Hand will also:

  1. Assembly of manufactured parts following blueprint drawings
  2. Operation of manufacturing process equipment (heat treat ovens, precision cleaning, broaching, polishing, and gear checking machines)
  3. Manufacture and/ or tests parts according to engineering and customer standards and specifications
  4. Basic Lathe and Mill Machining
  5. Remove burrs, sharp edges, tool marks and other irregularities from machined parts to ensure they are in accordance with engineering blueprints, and tolerance requirements
  6. Maintain accurate and reliable documentation
  7. Inspect and/or test related activities to ensure that parts are machined in accordance with manufacturing standards and blueprint specifications
  8. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School or GED required
  • 0-2 years of doing Bench Assembly
  • Experience in lathe and mill machining desirable
  • Organization skills for raw material, parts, shelf-life, and gage storage
  • Effective interaction with team members, customers and all levels of management
  • Ability to follow all safety and planning instructions.
  • Ability to read, understand, and correctly interpret basic blueprint drawings
  • Physical lifting requirements include; ability to lift 50 pounds (4 inches to 25 inches), capable of pushing or pulling a weight of 60 pounds, a grip strength of at least 50 pounds, and be able to reach above the shoulder (65 inches).
  • U. S. Citizenship status required.
  • Position requires the ability to obtain a U. S. Government Security Clearance, if needed. Candidates selected may be subject to a U. S. * Salary Range: $39,000 - $55,000*
