Department: Surgical Services - PACU

Scheduled Bi-Weekly Hours: 64 hoours

Daily Work Times: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

Our Surgery Centers provides 24-hour service and includes a staff of highly skilled nurses, technicians and anesthesia personnel. Everything our surgical teams do is designed, developed and continually refined for your health, comfort and best outcome.

Position Summary:

The Registered Nurse delivers quality nursing care through the utilization of the nursing process. Works collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team to maintain standards for professional nursing practice. Carries out functions according to hospital policy, the hospital mission, and standards of practice defined by professional and regulatory guidelines. Directs, coordinates and delegates activities in order to foster patient / family centered care.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assesses the physical, psychosocial, and educational needs of the patient.

  2. Plans and implements nursing care according to patient and family needs.

  3. Makes appropriate interventions based upon individual patient needs.

  4. Evaluates patient responses to nursing interventions.

  5. Assumes personal responsibility for quality patient care, patient satisfaction, environment, and professional development.

Required:

  • Associate Degree from an accredited Nursing program

  • Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse license

  • BLS certification

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

  • ACLS certification

  • Prior working experience in Surgical Services highly preferred
