Description We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Controller in Pomona, California. This role is within the construction industry and entails overseeing the preparation for external audits, ensuring all balance sheet account reconciliations are completed, and leading the External Audit as the liaison among other duties. This role is ideal for an experienced professional adept at accounting functions, auditing, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare for external audits by creating trial balances and audit schedules directly from the ERP system for all legal entities

• Ensure all balance sheet account reconciliations are completed accurately and timely

• Review account reconciliations and net working capital reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy

• Guarantee that all subledgers and reports match the general ledger for financial consistency

• Prepare adjusting journal entries as needed to maintain accurate financial records

• Create audit schedules as required by the external auditor

• Act as the point person (Liaison) to lead the External Audit

• Communicate effectively with all levels of management in a cross-functional team environment

• Leverage intermediate MS Excel skills to manage, analyze, and present data

• Apply extensive experience working with external auditors to ensure smooth audit processes. Requirements • Possession of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certificate

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Controller role or similar

• Demonstrated competency in all accounting functions

• Proficiency in auditing and creating audit schedules

• Experience in coordinating and leading an annual external audit

• Prior experience in a public accounting audit role

• Familiarity with the workings of a public company

• Strong ability in financial reporting

• Excellent communication and leadership skills

• Strong analytical and strategic planning skills

• Proficiency in using accounting software and other related tools

• Ability to adhere to strict deadlines and work under pressure

• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
