Logan Health Facility Supervisor - Polson Fitness Center in Polson, Montana

Job Description Summary:

This position oversees the day-to-day operations, staffing, and programs for assigned area(s).

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one (1) of the below requirements as applicable to assigned area(s):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Health Promotion, Health and Fitness, or related field.

  • Accredited Certification as a Group Exercise Instructor, Personal Trainer, ACSM Exercise Physiologist, ACSM Clinical Exercise Physiologist or Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).

  • Minimum of one (1) year leadership experience required.

  • Additional requirements as applicable to assigned area(s):

  • Minimum of three (3) years professional experience in strength and conditioning.

  • Certified Pool/SPA Operator (CPO) preferred; or must successfully obtain within twelve (12) months of hire.

  • CPR as applicable to assigned area(s).

  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience with front desk reception, customer service or child development position.

  • Aquatics:

  • Minimum of two (2) years’ aquatic swim instructor and lifeguard experience

  • All certifications listed below must be successfully obtained within sixty (60) days of hire:

  • Current nationally recognized Swim Instructor certification.

  • Advanced Lifesaving Certification/First Aid Certification.

  • Healthcare Provider or Red Cross Professional Rescuer CPR certification.

  • Preferred as applicable to assigned area(s):

  • Accredited Certification as a Wellness Coach.

  • Previous customer service work experience.

  • Knowledge of pool operations to include but not limited to: mechanical operation, supplies needed for maintenance, hygiene and chemical use for sterilization, and staff to member ratios for safe operations.

  • Previous experience in teaching and working with children and youth.

  • Basic knowledge of building and mechanical systems.

  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.

  • Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.

  • Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.

Job Specific Duties:

  • Responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations and staff for assigned area(s). Supervises and schedules assigned staff to ensure adequate coverage.

  • Provides staff orientation and training as applicable to assigned area(s). Assists with the hiring process, preparation and delivery of evaluations, and corrective action for assigned area(s).

  • Ensures assigned staff is up-to-date on certifications and the latest requirements for safety and instruction.

  • Conducts educational and promotional presentations per department protocol and as applicable to assigned area(s).

  • Assists leadership with policy and procedure updates as applicable to assigned area(s). Ensures guidelines are in accordance with industry and facility standards.

  • Accurately and timely prepares documentation and data entry as applicable to assigned area(s).

  • As applicable to assigned area(s): Maintains basic working knowledge of equipment and ensures preventive maintenance and necessary repairs per department protocol.

  • Provides recommendations regarding budget to assigned leadership and processes expenditures as applicable to assigned area(s).

  • Develops and organizes programs according to industry practices and procedures as applicable to assigned area(s).

  • As applicable to assigned area(s): Serves as point of contact for software related to assigned area(s). Assists with maintaining the LHMFC website to ensure information is accurate and up to date.

  • As applicable to assigned area(s): Supports revenue generation and achievement of membership acquisition and retention goals. Oversees member retention/engagement programs.

  • Assists with handling and documenting member and customer complaints. Implements team building strategies for assigned staff and facilitates staff meetings per department protocol.

  • Serves as a role model for outstanding customer service and ensures a hospitable, professional atmosphere and environment.

  • Performs as all Facility Supervisor as needed and per LHMFC procedure and protocol.

Schedule:

Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
