Team Epsilon has been chosen to deliver full-spectrum IT and Cyber Security support to a critical and enduring multinational organization within the United States Department of Defense. This DoD organization manages the resourcing, development and sustainment of one of our nation’s most coveted and capable platforms. An average day:
As Systems Administrator III | ACAS, you will be responsible for overseeing the administration and optimization of IT infrastructures across both domestic and international data centers for a large federal enterprise. This position requires advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with server environments, security frameworks, and systems performance. The Systems Administrator III | ACAS will guide system improvements, manage large-scale infrastructure projects, and collaborate across teams to ensure the alignment of security protocols, vulnerability management, and overall system health in highly complex environments. Additionally, in this position you will:
Facilitate the deployment, configuration, and management of complex operating systems and applications, ensuring performance, security, and availability across the enterprise.
Provide strategic direction for virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and other emerging technologies, enhancing the virtualized environment to meet scalability and performance demands.
Architect and implement advanced security protocols, including system hardening, advanced patch management, and vulnerability remediation, in line with organizational and federal security standards.
Take the lead in managing enterprise-level storage solutions (SAN, NAS) and backup/recovery operations, ensuring continuous data integrity and availability.
Spearhead system upgrades, migrations, and disaster recovery activities, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum resilience.
Direct the development and management of comprehensive system documentation for configurations, procedures, and standards, ensuring compliance and operational consistency.
Oversee troubleshooting and resolution of complex system issues, while maintaining operational excellence and rapid incident response times.
Serve as a subject matter expert and mentor to junior administrators, guiding them through system integration, design, and troubleshooting processes.
Analyze and provide actionable insights into system performance and capacity, driving continual improvements in system design and infrastructure capabilities.
Take ownership of the ACAS infrastructure, including Tenable Security Center and Nessus Scanners, ensuring the infrastructure is optimally configured and fully up to date with the latest releases and best practices.
Design and manage complex vulnerability scanning and compliance audit policies, and direct vulnerability remediation efforts across multiple teams.
Facilitate vulnerability assessments, risk analysis, and remediation tracking, producing high-level reports and metrics for executive leadership and key stakeholders.
Direct the integration of ACAS with other enterprise security tools, enhancing threat intelligence, system visibility, and information sharing.
Own and enhance access control measures across the organization, ensuring compliance with security policies, user role definitions, and activity monitoring standards.
Guide incident response activities, utilizing advanced vulnerability scanning, forensic data gathering, and impact analysis to ensure swift remediation and lessons learned are integrated into future security strategies.
Partner with security, network, and application teams to develop and implement strategic improvements across all security and system management platforms.
Provide strategic guidance on security policy compliance, including NIST, DISA STIGs, RMF, and other DoD security protocols, driving continuous improvement and ensuring adherence to evolving guidelines.
Basic Qualifications:
As a requirement of this position, all candidates must be a U.S. Citizen. In accordance with 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(2)(C) , Epsilon will not consider candidates for this position who do not meet the aforementioned conditions.
Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, plus 5+ years of vulnerability management experience and 2+ years hands-on ACAS/Tenable Security Center experience
Must hold a current 8570/8140 IAT Level II Certification (CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP)
Desired Security+ CE certification, plus at least one advanced certification (CASP+, CISSP, GSEC, or Tenable Certified Security Engineer) and current DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II or higher
Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with ACAS/Tenable Security Center, Nessus scanners, and advanced vulnerability management practices.
In-depth knowledge of DoD security policies, NIST standards, DISA STIGs, and security control implementation in enterprise environments.
Proven experience designing, implementing, and optimizing enterprise-wide vulnerability management solutions and compliance scanning operations.
Advanced troubleshooting, system performance tuning, and root cause analysis expertise.
Expertise in integrating complex security tools and technologies, with a focus on vulnerability management, system health monitoring, and incident response coordination.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance, and experience with POA&M development, CMMC frameworks, and continuous monitoring practices.
Other Requirements:
Must have an active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret with SCI eligibility or have an active Top Secret with SCI eligibility.
Will be subject to a federal background investigation.
