The Opportunity
This position works out of our Plymouth, MN location in the Structural Heart division. Our business purpose is to restore health and improve quality of life through the design and provision of device and management solutions for the treatment of structural heart disease.
As the Senior Electrical Engineer, you'll provide technical leadership within a vibrant and high-performing R&D team that is redefining the treatment of structural heart disease. The incumbent will primarily lead the electrical design activities of an electro-mechanical system in early stage-development, oversee 60601/wireless testing, and support other workstreams as needed.
What You’ll Work On
Daily duties will be a mix of the following:
Existing board design modification
Electrical debugging
Documentation
Concept design (gen2 platform updates)
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar.
Minimum 5 years of electrical design experience with a track record of increasing scope, complexity and leadership.
Experience in developing capital equipment design/development as part of a broader product ecosystem.
Analog and digital circuit design/analysis, particularly power regulation/budget, voltage regulation, signal integrity and communication interfaces.
Basic knowledge of electrical design principles involving RF considerations, e.g., signal degradation, interference and cross talk.
Experience in integrating wireless modules into embedded system and common interfaces such as I2C, SPI, UART and SDIO.
Experience in PCBA design, fabrication, bring-up and debug.
Proficiency in common electrical CAD tools for design documentation.
Experience in developing, authoring, testing and managing electrical design requirements
Experience in connector/cable design and testing.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree such as Master’s or PhD Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or similar.
Familiarity with ISO 13485, IEC 60601-1, 60601-1-2 family of standards.
Familiarity with ARM Cortex-M/ARMv8-M architecture for use in IoT applications.
Familiarity with FCC and RED regulatory test and documentation requirements.
Design of systems involving Bluetooth lower power/classic, NFC and 802.11 WiFi.
Experienced in the sequential phases of the medical device development from early feasibility and VOC through development, test, commercial launch, and post-market support.
Basic knowledge of rechargeable battery functionality and OTS selection.
Proficiency in DFMEA processes/principles.
Proficiency in statistical methods such as DOE, regression, hypothesis testing, distribution fit, etc.
Knowledge and application of systems engineering fundamentals.
Experience in first-in-human and pivotal clinical trials.
Experience and/or familiarity with cardiac anatomy and interventional cardiology.

The base pay for this position is $72,700.00 – $145,300.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
