The Opportunity

This position works out of our Plymouth, MN location, supporting our Electrophysiology (EP) Medical Device division. In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.

Responsible for financial planning, reporting and analysis. Prepares financial plans and forecasts based on performance expectations. Gathers and publishes financial information related to historical, current and future performance. Performs financial analysis utilizing appropriate financial concepts and techniques. Will support our Product Development team, and help align financial information and analysis into reporting and presentation as well as cross-train with other financial areas to gain expertise and provide a deeper bench in support of the finance team and future growth.

What You'll Work On

•Develop detailed financial forecasts incorporating historic, trended and current business information.

•Monitor functional and departmental spending versus budget by highlighting material variances using system generated detail and trend reports.

•Prepare journal entries and assist in month end close as needed to ensure proper accounting at the functional and departmental level.

•Prepare and distribute financial reports and packages by gathering and analyzing information related to current performance.

•Perform financial analysis, as directed by management, and recommend alternatives courses of action by utilizing appropriate financial tools . (e.g. EVA, NPV analysis).

•Evaluate new business opportunities, potential acquisitions, new products, tax planning and spending initiatives by modeling alternative financial scenarios (e.g. evenues, profitability etc).

•Prepare sensitivity analysis impact on revenue, expenses and profitability by modeling changes in key variables.

•Develop and utilize sound financial processes.

•Cultivates a wide range of internal networks and begins to develop an external network of resources to facilitate completion of tasks.

•May demonstrate basic project management skills by acting as a project lead on small, well defined projects.

•Provides guidance to less experienced staff.

•Influence exerted at peer level and occasionally at first levels of management.

Required Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance

2-3 years experience in finance or accounting

Systems experience with SAP, Excel, Powerpoint, Hyperion Essbase

Preferred Qualifications

Systems experience with PowerBI

The base pay for this position is $57,300.00 – $114,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
