System One Research Associate in Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania

Title: Research Associate

Location: Plymouth Meeting, Pa

Type: Permanent/Direct

Schedule: M-F 9am-5pm (flexible)

Salary: 45,000-60,000 with benefits (dependent on experience)

Start date: Immediate

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct biochemical assays and in vitro cell-based assays

  • Participate with the research team when conducting in vivo small animal studies

  • Generate high quality and timely data for contract-based research as well as in-house development using established methods.

  • Perform laboratory work to GLP/GMP quality standard to support the development of biopharmaceutical products

  • Applies knowledge and skills to perform accurately, all routine and complex laboratory procedures for which competency has been established and authorization to perform testing has been granted. Follows all lab pre-analytical, analytical and post analytical procedures covering specimen, analytical test system and result reporting requirements.

  • Monitors, performs, and documents all Quality Control, maintenance and calibration procedures according to established protocols and accreditation agency standards. Identifies issues/factors that adversely affect test performance. Provides technical support to staff, and personnel to resolve any issues related to laboratory testing.

    Required knowledge, skills, and education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology, or a related science.

  • Basic laboratory skills including proficiency with micro pipetting, preparation and dilution of standard solutions, reading scientific literature, aseptic technique, and operation/maintenance of standard biological instruments.

  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

  • Proficient with computers, including Microsoft word and Excel.

  • High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills.

    Preferred knowledge, skills, and experience:

  • Familiarity with the principles and performance of ELISA assays

  • Experience working with cell/tissue culture

  • Experience working in a GMP/GLP laboratory environment
