As Control Systems Engineer you will be working with Operational Technology Leader and will be responsible for providing control system support with the implementation of cost reduction, process improvement and capital addition programs. Main responsibilities will include:

  • Control and develop equipment software and supporting documentation.

  • Plan, design and specify improvements to existing processes to improve productivity and efficiency and minimize risk from component obsolescence.

  • Innovate, design and specify new processes to meet manufacturing requirements.

  • Advise on where control system upgrades would enhance equipment performance.

  • Ensure the manufacturing teams are issued with all the relevant software, documentation, procedures, drawings and parts lists in the technical construction file.

  • Maintain the site control system specifications and standards for equipment.

  • Ensure that software and control systems have been validated to the relevant standards.

  • Support the Operational Technical teams with breakdown and fault-finding requests.

  • Carry out other duties as deemed appropriate by the Operational Technology Leader.

About you

  • Have relevant and practical engineering experience with either time served or a minimum of 5 years’ experience with technical education (HND/HNC/Degree).

  • Experience in a related environment. Ideally medical device manufacture, pharmaceutical, automotive or special purpose machine building.

  • Experience of programming and fault-finding, PLCs, and servo-controlled equipment.

  • Experience with Allen Bradley, Omron and industrial robotics equipment would be advantageous.

  • Proven achievement with software, control systems and mechatronics in a related environment.

  • Able to generate and modify electrical drawings, preferably using AutoCAD.
