GENERAL SUMMARY:
Assists the Laboratory Supervisor in achieving efficient Laboratory operation by performing clinical tests. Supports laboratory testing services by performing specimen collection and processing, quality control and maintenance functions, and results reporting and verification. Participates in training and in-service programs to maintain and upgrade competency at the level required by the Supervisor as procedures are changed or added.QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Skills Required:
1. Licensed or eligible (application pending with a limited license in effect) as a Clinical Laboratory Technician or a Certified Histological Technician in the State of New York.
2. Employees with a limited license must obtain full license within New York State guidelines.
3. Upon 5 years / 10,400 hours of experience at CVPH as a Certified Clinical Lab Technician (working in the job title of Histology Technician) and upon meeting qualifying criteria, the Histology Technician may move to the Histology Technician II level.
4. Histology experience required.
However, if no qualified candidate with Histology experience, then others will be considered.
5. As applicable, the individual has training/competency in attending to the special needs and/or behaviors appropriate to the age of the patients for which care is being provided.

SIGN ON BONUS:

External candidates are eligible for up to a $6,000 sign-on bonus. Current employees of the UVM Health Network are not eligible for this bonus. Additional terms and conditions apply.

RELOCATION:

Relocation funds available to eligible candidates moving more than 50 miles.
