We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Software Engineer to join a FULLY REMOTE team in the professional services industry based in Plano, Texas. The individual will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining microservices-based applications on cloud platforms. This role requires a deep understanding of software development, reengineering, GCP, Spring Boot, Microservices, APIs, and proficiency in modern software development practices, and a focus on optimizing application performance and troubleshooting issues.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and orchestrate microservices-based architectures on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

• Facilitate the containerization of microservices using Docker and manage their deployment using Kubernetes

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design and infrastructure to define requirements and prioritize features

• Implement solutions to ensure the scalability, reliability, and performance of our cloud-based applications

• Monitor application performance, identify and rectify issues related to scalability, availability, and latency

• Work closely with other DevOps engineers to automate deployment processes and improve CI/CD pipelines

• Provide support for the resolution of production problems and ensure smooth operations of microservices in production environments

• Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback and mentor junior team members fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement

• Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in cloud computing and microservices architecture.

Requirements • Proficiency in using Google Cloud Platform is essential

• Experience with Docker is required

• Familiarity with Kubernetes is a must

• Demonstrable skills in Object Oriented Development is necessary

• A degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred

• Strong problem-solving abilities are needed

• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

• Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities effectively

• Experience in a professional services industry is an advantage

• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly and efficiently

• Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
