Description

We are seeking a Chief Information Security Officer to join our government team in PLANO, Texas. The candidate will be responsible for all assurance activities related to the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of city citizen, business partner, employee, and business information. This role also requires strategic oversight of all IT Security aspects within the city, including strategic vision, scoping of requirements, design, development, implementation, incident response, and adherence to all necessary protocols, regulations, and legal requirements.

POSITION: CHIEF INFORMATION SECURITY OFFICER

LOCATION: PLANO

SALARY: $160 - $180K

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develops, implements, and oversees strategic and comprehensive enterprise information security and IT risk management programs.

• Works directly with the business units to facilitate risk assessments and risk management processes.

• Develops and enhances the city’s information security management framework.

• Ensures compliance with Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS), Payment Card Industry (PCI), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA), and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standards and requirements.

• Supervises, organizes, recruits, develops, and ensures retention of Security Team staff in accordance with city budgetary and organizational objectives and policies.

• Measures and reviews the performance of staff. Mentors and develops staff sharing technical and process knowledge in key areas and ensures appropriate training programs.

• Authors departmental policies and procedures that adheres to standards (National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), HIPPA, CJIS, PCI, etc.) and monitors staff activities to ensure they apply and adhere to established policies and procedures.

  Requirements

• Proven experience in the field of security management within the government sector.

• Thorough understanding and working knowledge of NIST, SOX - Sarbanes-Oxley, PCI Compliance, and Cyber Security, HIPPA

• Ability to develop and implement security policies, protocols and procedures.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Strong leadership and team management abilities.

• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Proven track record in managing a diverse security team.

• CISSP or similar preferred

• Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the management and administration of information technology systems and information security, which includes three (3) years managerial experience with an Information Technology operation of comparable size, staff, and scope

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
