Intuit Risk Management Specialist, Capital Underwriting in Plano, Texas

Overview

Come join Intuit’s Account Risk Management team as a Risk Management Specialist with our QuickBooks Capital Underwriting department. We are seeking a highly motivated individual with an operations mindset and strong analytical skills to support our QuickBooks customers in their quest for funding to grow their business. Our team lives the Stronger Together value, analyzing business cash flow and demonstrating customer empathy to set appropriate financial guardrails, driving decisions that significantly impact both our customers and Intuit.

This role is hybrid and will require 2-3 days in the office per week. Must be able to work Saturdays + Sundays and most holidays.

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred in business, finance, or economics

  • 1-2 years of experience in small business or commercial underwriting

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to simply lay out the conclusions and reasons for each decision

  • Financial background; knowledge of financial statement components and solid understanding of key risk drivers

  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving background with the ability to work independently

  • Working knowledge of Salesforce, Microsoft/Google Office suites (ex. Sheets, Excel, Word, Slides, PowerPoint, etc.) and internal system tools

  • Empathy and understanding of the small business owner and their finances

  • Operationally savvy with the ability to constantly focus on the process and to develop and implement operational changes in order to improve efficiency and limit risk throughout the underwriting process

How you will lead

  • Using our proprietary models, you will analyze information provided on commercial loan applications and other third party sites to determine credit worthiness and appropriately assess risk

  • Apply defined procedures to independently review and evaluate new and existing customers

  • Determine outcome of loan applications while adhering to Compliance and regulatory requirements

  • Make outbound calls to customers to validate information when necessary

  • Improve Underwriting process, policy, and workflow while identifying areas in need of further incremental improvement

  • Raise organizational awareness of issues and works to mitigate risk

  • Plan for efficient Underwriting workflow as the business scales

  • Completes all assigned loans daily maintaining the department established SLAs
