Overview

QUALITY CONTROL INSPECTOR

Bowhead seeks a Quality Control Inspector to join our Manufacturing & Products Division in Plano, TX. The Quality Control Inspector's main responsibility is to ensure that all products received and manufactured meet the quality standards of Bowhead's Quality Management System. The Quality Control Inspector will also support the management of all quality-related issues within the manufacturing team.

Responsibilities

Essential functions will include:

  • Performing Receiving Inspection perQuality Management System (QMS) documentation

  • Performing assembly and test final inspection

  • Performing Process and First Article Inspections (AS9102 and PPAP)

  • Ensuring that all measurement equipment is registered calibrated and maintained

  • Ensuring that all quality and in process checks are conducted as planned

  • Ensuring associated documentation is implemented effectively and maintained

  • Performing regular quality checks of components using manual, electronic measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, surface plate, etc.)

  • MaintainQuality Management System (QMS) documentation and records

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • An Associate's degree is prefered in addition to two to five (2-5) years of relevant experience

  • Must have prior experience as a Quality Inspector

  • Process inspection experience preferred

  • Experienced with DoD/Military programs and requirements a plus

  • J-STD-001 certification a plus

  • IPC-A-620, IPC/WHMAA-A-620 certification a plus

  • ASQ Quality inspector certification a plus

  • Must possess superior verbal and written communication skills, a keen attention to detail, initiative, and eagerness to learn and grow professionally and any technical writing skills are a plus

  • Must have the ability to adapt to changing situations, reprioritize and successfully pursue given objectives

  • Ability to be a team player with reliability, intellectual curiosity, and drive to succeed and must be able to perform program support functions on multiple projects concurrently

  • Experienced utilizing various software programs to collect/track/reconcile programmatic data relative to milestone decisions is required, and experience with CostPoint is a plus

  • Intermediate level skills in Microsoft Office software suite- Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds

  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time

  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: There are currently no Security Clearance requirements for this position; however, candidates must be able to successfully pass a background check. Due to the location of this work, US Citizenship is required. Bowhead reserves the right to change this requirement if necessitated by business needs or contractual obligations.
