Job Description

This role is responsible for the planning, forecasting, planning, oversight, control, and analysis of financial and resource planning for the APRT Leadership Team within the Payments Technology organization.

The Business Manager will need to closely partner with technology leadership to provide transparency and insight into the team's expense base, delivery schedule, efficiency and resource agenda. Additionally, this role maintains full accountability for all delivery and integrity for all financial and business management deliverables/performance management for the APRT team .

This role reports to the Lead Business Manager for APRT and demands a tenured knowledge of technology expense categorization, project financials, and software delivery expense forecasting and analysis. Additionally, the ability to communicate effectively with people in technology, finance, and product will be key to success.

Job Responsibilities

As a dynamic role, the APRT Business Manager will provide overall support to the Payments Technology Business Management Team through oversight of the APRT division in all responsibilities related to Business Management, as well as other strategic enablement as needed. Broadly including:

  • Partnering with Technology team and Payments Finance team to develop, guide, monitor, and report on agreed financial plan and efficiency agenda

  • Leading APRT on the annual planning processes and analysis for the Payments organization, ensuring alignment and adherence with direction from Payments Finance Team

  • Oversee and lead on all resource planning for the APRT organization to ensure adherence to location strategy, hiring cadence, attrition tracking and hiring initiatives

  • Ensuring processes are in place to provide the proper level of transparency on expenses with a focus on key drivers

  • Assisting in understanding the inputs to and conclusions that can be drawn from, the analysis of performance vs. plan and financial forecasting

  • Partnering closely with the Investment Governance (IG) team to analyze, report, and modify the investment direction of ART in accordance with direction from Payments Head of Technology

  • Partnering closely with the APRT Program Management team to align on financial impacts of planned investments and roadmap reporting of same in addition to assisting in driving overall strategic agendas and prioritization processes

  • Providing Senior Manager proper management reporting, communication and client reporting, focusing on the overall business unit performance against objectives. Proactively highlight issues and risks to the objectives, derive solutions, and drive remedies to completion

  • Governance and communication of all aspects of performance, including at town halls, off-sites, business reviews and for regulators

  • Driving and coordinating the Group's management team agenda, business reviews, organization design & change initiatives

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Undergraduate degree required / advanced degree preferred

  • 6+ years of experience working within a Business Management environment; supporting a Technology team is required

  • Strong financial management background with experience in Expense Management, Accounting, Program/Portfolio Management, and managing large scale efficiency enablement and productivity enhancement initiatives

  • Must have experience/familiarity with the following:

  • Project accounting and reporting for technology

  • Financial reporting

  • Communicating with internal clients on technology allocations

  • Ability to interrogate and interpret financial reports

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels, influence key stakeholders across global locations

  • Self-starter with excellent presentation abilities and previous experience working with executive stakeholders

  • Strong system skills across MS Office - Excel Pivot tables, application of financial formulas, macros, and PowerPoint

  • Demonstrated organizational skills with a strong attention to detail and ability to articulate complex issues concisely

  • Ability to deal with several priorities simultaneously and maintain a flexible approach between detailed analysis and macro appreciation with an assurance of meeting deadlines

  • Superior time management skills and ability to prioritize both day-to-day activities and longer-term projects

  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure and within an environment of rapidly changing priorities
