POSITION SUMMARY

The Controller is responsible for managing and overseeing all facets of our accounting operations, including the monthly close cycle, financial reporting, timely and accurate accounting reports, while complying with all legislative and corporate requirements.  Ensures an adequate system of internal controls, general ledger accounts are correctly stated and classified and that financial reports are prepared in accordance with GAAP/IFRS.  The controller partners with multiple cross functional team members both at corporate and respective business units to assist with financial decisions.

As the Corporate Controller, you will represent the company’s brand and drive strategies to increase product awareness by observing the market, competitors, and industry trends.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Preparation and review of monthly financial performance (revenue, operating profit and cash). Review monthly reconciliations and journal entries to assure accurate financial information is generated and proper internal controls are in place, in accordance with GAAP, working knowledge of IFRS.

  • Prepare, analyze, and interpret statistical and accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget of the segment. 

  • Manage the year-end and interim audit and be the key contact for the audit and tax teams.

  • Provide leadership to the international finance and accounting team regarding all technical accounting questions and update the organization on changes to critical accounting policies and procedures.

  • Manage company policies and procedures.

  • Implement KPI’s and metrics to ensure working capital is managed prudently.

  • Ensure that all statutory reporting requirements and deadlines are met.

  • Establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of internal controls and procedures.

  • Provide financial and accounting leadership, overseeing all accountants, AP and AR staff. 

  • Analyze financial and operational information to determine the most efficient use of resources and capital. Provide strategic recommendations and solutions to the operational units and senior management team

  • Actively participate in initiatives and special projects as required by senior management, segment leadership, and corporate.

  • Other duties as assigned.

    Education:  Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, or Business Administration. MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred.

    Experience:  Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in finance and accounting and at least 1 year of experience managing international finance and accounting activities

    Other Requirements:

    Goal-oriented and possesses the ability to prioritize on a consistent basis in an ever-changing environment. Excellent analytical, negotiation, organization and presentation skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience in effectively communicating key data, including presentations to senior management, Board members, Committee members or other outside partners.
