Within Cloud Operations we are committed to continually improving the services offered to our customers and as result we are looking for a Senior Cloud Architect to join our team.

Your Role:

As a Senior Cloud Architect, your responsibilities will include partnering with business-focused development teams and together the design of cloud solutions primarily within AWS. You will be challenged to find approaches that enable rapid adoption of new cloud services, drive transformation, and transform IT.

This role takes accountability for ensuring a high quality of delivery output into the R&D Cloud Operations business and provides support pre-sales technical activities and engagement with customers.

This role includes the responsibility for overseeing the Dev Ops engineers, junior cloud architects and the test automation engineers, acting as an interface and key delegation point internally and to the wider engineering practice.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create, maintain, and deliver the Cloud Architecture and Solutions

• Creation and Implementation of Cloud Infrastructure: As a Cloud Infrastructure Architect, you will design and implement cutting-edge cloud infrastructure solutions that align with our business goals and requirements.

• Continuous Optimization: Focus on enhancing the performance, stability, and responsiveness of our existing cloud infrastructure, ensuring it evolves with the latest technologies and practices.

• Best Practice Cloud Operations: Champion world-class cloud operations services, integrating Siemens' code of practice and ensuring all competency centers adhere to standard cloud protocols.

• Service security and vulnerability standards, designing secure services and ensuring adherence across operational functions.

• Oversee the system architecture from project inception through delivery, creating both high and low-level designs across applications, infrastructure, and networks.

• Support the technical roadmap

• Supervise technical architectural and engineering resources within projects, ensuring alignment with our strategic roadmap.

• Ensure solution and architectural quality

• Conduct quality reviews on all automation scripts and tools to ensure DevOps best practise.

• Partner with project and program managers to lead solution delivery, providing technical leadership, guidance, and direction to the project team. Act as the primary interface with the business to ensure the successful adoption of solutions.

Your Qualifications:

• You have a university degree, ideally in Information Technology (IT), Computer Science, or a related field, and you have extensive professional experience. Alternatively, 6+ years of professional experience would also be fine.

• You possess comprehensive knowledge of analysis and design methods for software and AWS cloud solutions as well as a solid understanding of various design and architecture patterns to solve complex problems.

• You have proven experience in creating and implementing cloud infrastructures (e.g., Terraform), networks and databases, as well as adhering to security policies.

• You are an expert in AWS services and their utilization, holding a certification as an AWS Certified Solutions Architect.

• Experienced in implementing Cloud Security best practices.

• Significant enterprise architecture definition, solution definition and deployment experience.

• Strong knowledge of Rest API, API security, OAuth, SSO, microservices and Micro front end architecture and implementation.

• Strong knowledge with DevOps practices and tools for CI/CD, automation, and configuration management.

• Programming proficiency in at least one of - Python, Bash, Go, Java, PowerShell.

• Experience with Kubernetes, Helm and Docker, relational and NoSQL databases.

• Excellent communication skills in both German and English, with the ability to present to large audiences and explain complex topics clearly.
