Fortive Corporation Accounts Receivable Specialist in Plainville, Connecticut
The Accounts Receivable Specialist reports to the Gems Setra AR/AP Supervisor and is responsible for managing credit holds, customer communication on open accounts receivable, general ownership of their portfolio of customers, and identifying areas for improvement in execution. This role will work closely with customers, sales, customer service, quality, and other Finance associates to ensure prompt payment from customers, the identification and resolution of issues, and remaining in compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS – Accounts Receivable Specialist
Review and release credit holds following approval structures.
Review new customer applications for credit.
Periodic review of current credit lines.
Maintaining account notes and up to date customer information.
Calling and emailing customers on open AR.
Dispute identification and monitoring.
Attend daily management meetings and report on oldest AR.
Work with outside collection agencies when necessary.
Submit invoices/ASNs in customer portals.
Assist with audits and yearly control testing.
Other duties as assigned based on prior experience, which may include account reconciliations or assisting other accounting functions.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED –
High School Diploma required
Associate’s degree a plus (or equivalent experience)
2+ years of related work experience
Prior experience in a manufacturing environment a plus
Strong PC skills including Excel analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to communicate effectively with external customers and internal departments

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, gases, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures and workspace restrictions.
The noise level in the work environment occasionally loud.
Employees will be required to wear the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), which may include: eye, hearing and respiratory protection, protective smock, steel toe shoes, gloves, hard hats, or face shields. Contact lenses may not be allowed in some areas.
The associate must also be willing and able to travel by all forms of transportation.
