We have an exciting opportunity for an RN to join out CCU department as a Clinical Nurse Specialist. This is a full time, day shift role.

    What We Require for this Role:

    Education

  • BSN or higher, must obtain Masters Degree in 3 years

  • National Certification (CCRN preferred)

    Related Work Experience

  • 4 + years of critical care experience

  • Experience with Nursing Education

  • Experience with Microsoft Suite

    LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIREMENT

  • NJ RN license

  • ACLS

  • BLS

Summary:

  • The Clinical Nurse Leader is a unit-based Masters-prepared nurse responsible for a specified cohort of patients. The CNL has specialized knowledge in horizontal leadership and establishes strong partnerships with patients, families, and professional and support staff to deliver optimal care. The CNL has 24-hour accountability for the care provided by self and others to whom care is delegated. The role of the CNL includes the delivery of expert clinical care, outcomes management, patient advocacy, unit-based education, information management, risk anticipation, team management, and professional leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • This position - is an individual contributor with no direct reports but may provide guidance, leadership, or training to others. Outcomes Manager Patient Specific Synthesizes multiple data elements and applies research-based information to design, implement, and evaluate patients’ plans of care to achieve optimal patient outcomes Population based Serves as a liaison to institution based quality committees to facilitate the dissemination and implementation of the latest evidence-based practices to nursing colleagues Resource management In collaboration with unit management, identifies and substantiates the resources needed for optimal patient care Educator Patient and Family Provides or oversees the education of the patient and family to understand illness and self-care concepts by using appropriate teaching principles and methods Clinicians Supports the clinical and professional development of nursing colleagues through mentoring and role modeling Patient Advocate Develops a partnership with care providers, patients, and families to support the patient’s goals and decisions regarding care and treatment Facilitates discussions with care providers, patients, and families when ethical dilemmas arise

Credentials:

  • Registered Nurse - NJ (Required)
