Cummins Inc. Team Leader - Level IV in Plainfield, Indiana

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Team Leader – Level IV to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Cummins Inc. facility in Plainfield, IN.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Coordination : By coordinating the activities of a group of employees, you ensure that production specifications and schedules are met, including volume, cost, wastage targets, and quality standards.

  • Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Compliance : Your adherence to HSE standards, policies, and procedures, and your proactive approach to reporting hazards and incidents, contribute to a safer work environment.

  • Quality Assurance : By following all applicable standard work, process documentation, and quality procedures, and by performing quality inspections, you help maintain high-quality standards and minimize cost and exposures.

  • Delivery Management : You monitor the performance and output of the team, assign tasks, and respond to equipment faults, parts shortages, quality issues, and safety issues. This ensures that work specifications, schedules, volume, cost, waste targets, and quality standards are met.

  • Training and Development : By ensuring on-the-job training and other training requirements are scheduled, completed, and documented, you contribute to the continuous learning and development of the team.

  • Continuous Improvement : Your assistance in creating and maintaining a team focused on continuous improvement contributes to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of operations.

  • Coaching and Mentoring : By coaching and mentoring less experienced team members, you help build a stronger, more knowledgeable team.

  • Teamwork : Your effective communication with the assigned team and all support teams, along with your active participation in ways to improve quality, safety, process, material flow, and employee development, fosters a collaborative and productive work environment.

  • Demonstrate Manufacturing Knowledge : Correctly implement changes in current processes, equipment, and applications to meet the function’s needs and contribute towards continuous improvement. This requires a solid understanding of manufacturing principles and practices.

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

  • Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training, or on-the-job experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

Additional Information:

  • Maintain APS and hour-by-hour boards, keeping all information on the board fully updated, including post quality tracking charts and sheets.

  • Cover for absenteeism where needed within the team, group, or department.

  • Familiarity with hand tools and fasteners.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft suite.

Compensation (for United States)

Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The

final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s

qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
