Overall Purpose: The Senior Financial Analyst will assist in the consolidation of the five-year business plan and annual budgeting process. This will include: partnering with business unit leaders to prepare and understand operational budgets, performing analysis and challenging assumptions (where necessary) on key budget inputs received from business partners, serving as a key liaison between the FP&A group and other budgeting functions within the organization, assisting in the preparation of the company's cash forecast.
Location: Hybrid (see below), downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Job Responsibilities: Responsible for the monthly rolling forecast, variance analyses and budget for supporting departments. Liaison between supporting business units and Finance, providing analytical support, and making recommendations to improve business decision making. Proactively identify problems and opportunities and participate in implementing solutions. Coordinate the company's efforts to gather, analyze and report benchmarking data with other peer utilities. Coordinate the maintenance and updates of the financial planning software. Support the department's duty to respond to ad hoc requests from senior management and the ownership group. Partners closely with business leadership and Human Resource Business Partners (HRBPs) to meet the needs of the business unit(s) supported.
Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related business field required. Three (3) years related experience required, including direct FP&A and/or financial experience Relevant certifications, such as CPA, CMA, MBA, PMP, etc. preferred
Skills: Excellent analytical ability in analyzing budget variances and performing fluctuation analyses. Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) to communicate and discuss findings with Senior Management Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Highly organized and detail-oriented, with ability to manage various priorities Adaptability, flexibility, and comfortable with change Prompt executor

Scope: Primary focus is on daily deliverables, outputs and reporting. Typically accountable for managing one's own time and workflow. Responsible for using prescribed guidelines to analyze situations and solve problems. Work activities are typically moderate to complex in nature, requiring the incumbent to draw on previous knowledge to perform role. Continues to build knowledge base but has a solid foundation to act independently the majority of the time. Still draws on experts and managers when needed but less frequently.
Decision Impact: Problems and issues faced are vague. Draws on past experience on a regular basis. Accountable for direct level of reasoning and decision making.
Hybrid Work Position follows our hybrid work mode , with a minimum of two days working in the office and the remaining days working remotely. Reporting location and frequency may be subject to change based on job role and department needs.
