UPMC Sr. Director, Community Relations, Major Gift, and Corporate Fundraising (Children's Hospital Foundation) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Purpose:

The Senior Director, Community Relations reports to the Vice President, Community Relations and plays a pivotal role in in the diversification and growth of donor relationships and revenue generating programs and activities. This position will develop and execute a vision and strategic plan for growth in key areas and lead a team to advance the Foundation?s priorities on behalf of the hospital. The role will manage a portfolio of donors and prospects, securing six figure gifts and higher, and foster best practices among the team for relationship management and tracking progress. Responsibilities include efficiently acquiring new donors, growing existing, and ensuring a robust donor pipeline. This role demands a visionary and collaborative leader who can create and execute a plan to drive revenue generating programs and activities to new heights and ensure UPMC Children?s Hospital Foundation is the charity of choice among corporations, businesses, executives, and other key donors, donor groups, and prospects in the region.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team dedicated to increasing revenue from corporations, businesses, and other constituents and individuals in key priority areas. Provide leadership for the design, implementation, and management of a prospect pipeline process at all giving levels, in collaboration with the prospect management & research team other team members.Develop and execute a corporate growth strategy to enhance fundraising efforts. Identify and develop new prospects and revenue streams on an ongoing basis. Manage a portfolio of donors and prospects including C-suite executives and business leaders, cultivating strong relationships and securing significant gifts of $100k and greater. Design and execute the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship strategies and the effective involvement of leadership and volunteers in those activities. Represent the Foundation at events and networking opportunities to foster relationships and increase philanthropic support. Create or maintain processes to ensure that reports, stewardship documents, and ongoing touchpoints occur efficiently and effectively.Meet sponsorship revenue goals, ensuring that sponsor relationships are well-managed and mutually beneficial.Develop and manage the team?s revenue and expense budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility and alignment with organizational goals.Create and implement metrics and measurement systems to evaluate both team and individual performance, and the effectiveness of giving programs and donor strategies, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.Ensures competent and consistent use of CRM software by staff to track, record, and analyze activity and productivity.

  • Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in fundraising, business development, or corporate relations, including at least 5 years experience within a non-profit environment.

  • Management experience required along with strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire and motivate a team.

  • Extensive experience in fundraising and donor relationship management.

  • Demonstrated success in securing major gifts and developing fundraising strategies that drive revenue growth, individually and organizationally.

  • Experience managing revenue and expense budgets.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and persuade various stakeholders.

  • Proficiency with CRM and fundraising software and Microsoft Office suite. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal

  • Act 33 with renewal

  • Act 34 with renewal

  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
