University of Pittsburgh Senior Financial Management Consultant in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Senior Financial Management Consultant

The Institute for Entrepreneurial Excellence, within the Office of Innovation & Entrepreneurship, is seeking a qualified part-time (.5 FTE/18.75 hours weekly) Senior Financial Management Consultant. The position will be a hybrid role.

Job duties will include, but not be limited to:

    • Provide consulting assistance to new and existing businesses.
    • Develop and maintains relationships with local economic development agencies to heighten the profile of a center/institute and the University of Pittsburgh.
    • Attend networking functions; conducts presentations and business seminars.
    • Plan and deliver educational programs to the public and businesses. Plan, organize, and facilitate educational programs and create new educational seminars in collaboration with resource partners.
    • Maintain all data about the programs.
    • Use marketing strategies to promote the programs.
    • Performs market research for existing and potential markets.

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

    • Financial analysis and management reporting experience.
    • Advanced proficiency with MS Excel (e.g., pivot tables, macros, VBA, lookups).
    • Experience analyzing and creating cash flow projections, including analysis of business' financial statements.
    • Experience development and analyzing a business' loan package for financial institutions.
    • General tax return knowledge/experience.
    • Budget process and systems experience.
    • Cost accounting/cost allocation experience.
    • Ability to analyze financial metrics, benchmarks, etc. to determine the financial health of a business.
    • Demonstrated ability to write and communicate professionally and clearly, succinctly, and in a manner that appeals to a wide audience.
    • 5+ years of relevant consulting or industry experience in financial analysis preferred.

Job Summary

 

Provides business consulting assistance to new and existing businesses in Western Pennsylvania. Develops effective relationships with local economic development agencies and conducts business seminars and educational programming. Employs effective marketing strategies to further market and program reach.

Physical Effort

Job is primarily sedentary but may require some travel to meet with clients.
