Post Doctoral.Post Doctoral.Associate Psychology - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - (24006356) The Department of Psychology at the University of Pittsburgh announces a position for a Post-Doctoral Research Associate. The position will be fully funded by the National Institutes of Health. We seek an individual with a background in health neuroscience, psychophysiology, psychoneuroimmunology, cognitive aging, and emotion regulation, with specific research interests in conducting longitudinal research on the brain-based mechanisms by which emotion regulation buffers against stress-related risk for subclinical cardiovascular disease and systemic inflammation in midlife adults. The candidate also should have a demonstrated track record of scholarly publications and an interest in conducting research working with multilevel and multivariate biobehavioral data. The candidate also should have experience in conducting laboratory assays of biological specimens. Substantively, research interests could include a range of interests, for example: * Health inequalities in the domains of immune function, cardiovascular disease, dementia and neurocognitive aging; * Emotion, emotion regulation, and stress physiology; * Neurobiology of psychological stress. The person filling this position will complement the current strengths of the Psychology Department and partnerships with other units, which for the present project include a collaboration with Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Virginia. The Psychology Department (http://www.psychology.pitt.edu) is committed to excellence in research and mentoring at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. The interdisciplinary nature of psychological science is reflected by faculty, staff, and student research interests collaborations, and training opportunities. Eligible candidates will have a minimum of a Ph.D. in health psychology, cognitive neuroscience (or related discipline).
