The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Pittsburgh is seeking a dedicated Postdoctoral Research Fellow with expertise in qualitative research methodologies and manuscript writing. The successful candidate will contribute to ongoing research projects, with a focus on exploring interviews from current and past research projects within. This position offers an opportunity to engage in innovative research and collaborate with a diverse team of scholars.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Qualitative Research:
- Design and conduct qualitative studies including interviews and focus groups as needed
- Develop and refine research protocols and data collection instruments.
- Analyze qualitative data using appropriate methods (e.g., thematic analysis, grounded theory).
- Manuscript Writing:
- Prepare and write high-quality research manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journals.
- Collaborate with team members to co-author articles, ensuring adherence to publication standards and deadlines.
- Present findings at academic conferences and seminars.
- Project Management:
- Assist in the overall management of research projects, including scheduling, data management, and reporting.
- Collaborate with faculty and graduate students to support research objectives and training initiatives.
- Literature Review:
- Conduct comprehensive literature reviews to inform research design and methodology.
- Synthesize findings and contribute to the development of theoretical frameworks.
- Mentorship and Collaboration:
- Mentor graduate students in qualitative methods and manuscript preparation.
- Foster interdisciplinary collaborations with other researchers and departments.
- Grant Writing:
- Assist in the preparation of grant proposals to secure funding for future research projects.
Qualifications:
- • Ph.D. in [Relevant Field, e.g., Social Sciences, Public Health, Education].
- • Strong background in qualitative research methodologies.
- • Demonstrated experience in manuscript writing and publication in peer-reviewed journals.
- • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
- • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
