DESCRIPTION OF WORK Duties of a Nurse Manager 1 include administering nursing services and making decisions based on policy, experience, and training. You also provide input into the development of policies to assure compliance with all internal and external rules and regulations.

Other duties include overseeing and participating in the observation of residents' conditions and handling appropriately. You also inspect the nursing units of the facility for regulatory compliance and to address resident care needs. Some of your supervisory duties include scheduling and assigning work, evaluating performance, approving or denying leave requests, conducting performance management, and initiating progressive disciplinary measures. This includes participating in the resolution of staff problems by reviewing grievances and complaints, conducting investigations, holding discussions with employees, and recommending solutions.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment, 40-hour work week Work hours are 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, Monday to Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Please check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years as a Registered Nurse Supervisor or three years as a Registered Nurse Instructor (commonwealth titles) in a facility providing care and services for people with a mental or physical injury, illness, or developmental disability; or Six years of professional nursing experience, which includes one year in a supervisory or consultative capacity providing nursing care and services for people with a mental or physical injury, illness, or developmental disability; and a bachelor's degree in nursing, nursing education, or nursing administration. A master's degree in nursing, nursing education, or nursing administration may be substituted for up to one year of the required general professional nursing work experience; or An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes one year in a supervisory or consultative capacity providing nursing care and services for people with a mental or physical injury, illness, or developmental disability. Special Requirements: All positions require active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania. All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing. Other Requirements: PA residency requirementis currently waived for this title. You must be able to perform essential job functions. Legal Requirements: A conditional offer of employment will require satisfactory completion of a medical examination and a drug screening. This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
