Robert Half Network and Infrastructure Engineer in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Description We are seeking a Network and Infrastructure Engineer to join our team based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The successful candidate will be tasked with configuring, monitoring, and maintaining our clients' networks, ensuring maximum efficiency and security. This role involves setting up, installing, and supporting networked equipment, as well as implementing network security measures.
Responsibilities:
• Configuring, monitoring, and maintaining client networks to ensure constant, secure access for users.
• Setting up, installing, and supporting networked equipment to maximize network efficiency and security.
• Implementing network security measures to protect data and maintain network integrity.
• Conducting regular performance tests to assess the effectiveness of network configurations and make necessary adjustments.
• Handling escalated network support issues and providing solutions in a timely manner.
• Mentoring team members and delegating networking maintenance tasks to ensure efficient workflow.
• Participating in an on-call rotation to provide continuous support to clients.
• Traveling to client locations, as needed, for on-site troubleshooting and support.
• Utilizing skills in Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Checkpoint, Cisco ASA, Cisco Routers, Cisco Technologies, AB Testing, Computer Hardware, Configuration Management, Datacenter, Deployments.
• Working with network infrastructure devices and protocols, and demonstrating a proven ability to design, deploy, and maintain solutions supporting high-availability network infrastructures. Requirements • Proficiency in Border Gateway Protocol (BGP)
• Extensive knowledge of Checkpoint
• Experience with Cisco ASA
• Familiarity with Cisco Routers and Cisco Technologies
• Understanding of AB Testing principles
• Ability to handle Computer Hardware
• Experience in Configuration Management
• Knowledge in managing a Datacenter
• Demonstrated expertise in Deployments
• Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple task assignments
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Demonstrated ability to write SQL or similar code
• Understanding of infrastructure scalability and resilience
• Familiarity with ITIL processes
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
