Laboratory Research Technician II

The Department of Urology is seeking a Laboratory Research Technician who will work closely with Dr. Zhou Wang to investigate cancer progression and therapy resistance. The ideal candidate should possess a B.S. in biology or a related field, have experience with cell culture, standard molecular/cell biology techniques, and xenograft tumor models. Experience in histology is a plus.

Job Summary

 

Performs a variety of laboratory experiments and procedures. Prepares specimens. Oversees supply management. Operates and properly maintains equipment.

 

Essential Functions

The candidate will be responsible for maintaining sample inventories, data collection/recording and entry and ordering supplies. Will monitor the handling, storage and disposal of hazardous substances.

 

Physical Effort

Requires the ability to sit/stand at a laboratory bench for extended periods of time.
