Reference #: 2411024 This position is accountable for providing Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) leadership to the GSC North American Industrial Liquid Region. The role partners closely with the Regional Operations Leadership Team, site EHS and HR Managers, and site leadership to drive continuous safety improvement and achieve the goals of Operational Excellence, including Safety and EHS Excellence. The position will be key to provide leadership on safe processing improvements and risk reduction for catastrophic incidents. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS: Drives the on-going implementation of the Group's regulatory compliance, safety process, EHS Management Systems  (EHSMS) and focuses on reducing risk in operations Works to develop high levels of employee engagement and management commitment in our EHS processes. Promotes conformance with process safety management principles, and drives risk reduction and improvement in PSM compliance across direct and indirect reporting sites Sustains PSM performance in diligent application of Management of Change, Pre-Startup Safety Reviews, and promoting the execution of CAPEX spending for risk reduction. Drives the on-going implementation of the Group's regulatory compliance, safety process, EHS Management Systems (EHSMS) and focuses on reducing risk in operations Works to develop high levels of employee engagement and management commitment in our EHS processes. Provides leadership and direction to the Regions EHS and HR professionals to ensure they have and are using the tools necessary to reinforce Safety as a core value. Provides support and assistance to the Regions EHS professionals in the area of career and professional development. Works with site EHS Managers and operations management to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations Assists in the preparation of capital budgeting for safety, health, and property protection projects. Ability to lead Site EHS professionals through indirect management, motivation and support in achieving regional and divisional goals. Help coordinate and participate in internal EHS audits and help sites develop corrective action plans. Supports and assists sites in VPP implementation and sustainability. Develops plans for success FORMAL EDUCATION: Required: A Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Safety Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety or related field Preferred: Advanced degrees in Safety, Occupational Health, Engineering and Technical Fields are preferred. KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE: Required: Must be at least 18 years of age. Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without needing sponsorship now or in the future for employment work visa status At least 12 years of Engineering and/or Environmental Health & Safety experience Demonstrated Process Safety Management Experience and Success Previous supervisory experience Previous multi-site operational experience Previous experience in a manufacturing environment Preferred: 15+ years' experience preferred Professional certifications such as CSP, ASP, and /or CIH Previous experience and success in third-party certification frameworks (ISO, Responsible Care, OSHA VPP etc.) Experience with Continuous Improvement processes/techniques such as Six Sigma, Lean, Transactional Lean or Root Cause Analysis Previous experience with PSM (Process Safety Management) Travel Up to 40%
