PNC eDiscovery Specialist - PNC Legal in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

We are looking to hire an eDiscovery Specialist within PNC's Legal organization.

This position is primarily based in a PNC location. Responsibilities require time in the office or in the field on a regular basis. Some responsibilities may be performed remotely, at manager’s discretion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the PNC eDiscovery Team with eDiscovery and legal hold operations, including day-to-day eDiscovery processes, vendor engagement and coordination, management of PNC’s legal hold software platform, and communications and administration for the eDiscovery Team.

  • Collaborate with in-house and outside case teams and vendors regarding eDiscovery related to litigation and investigations, providing support from matter inception to completion.

  • Assist with the administration and management of PNC’s legal hold program, including coordinating the creation and issuance of legal hold notices, reporting, and communicating with case teams, IT, and legal hold custodians.

  • Oversee certain vendor relationships, particularly in terms of legal hold software and technical support issues.

  • Assisting the eDiscovery Team with the preservation and collection of legal hold data, as needed. Support information governance and data remediation projects, as necessary.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong understanding of:

o Litigation and investigation processes and eDiscovery lifecycle, including but not limited to legal holds, data preservation, collection, processing and review standards, and information governance.

o Current and emerging laws and regulations, regulatory drivers, eDiscovery strategies, and cutting-edge technologies to enable effective governance and compliance in the financial services industry.

o Familiarity with Exterro legal hold platform and Microsoft 365 preferred.

  • Demonstrates ability to:

o Organize and efficiently handle multiple tasks and workflows in a fast-paced environment.

o Effectively communicate and collaborate with the eDiscovery team, senior attorneys, service providers, IT personnel, business leaders, and line of business personnel.

o Analyze data in order to maintain and/or remediate program compliance.

o Spot issues, anticipate and stay in front of possible obstacles inherent in the eDiscovery space.

o Build and maintain effective relationships, both internally and externally.

o Manage people, time, and priorities efficiently.

o Show initiative and self-reliance but work well as part of a small, cohesive team.

Job Description

  • Leads critical operational support and/or implementation of services, processes, capabilities or initiatives within an operational unit, and oversees performance and risk indicators.

  • Establishes process performance measurements and oversees business impact. May implement critical business support services. Communicates performance statistics to internal stakeholders and senior management.

  • Promotes the production workflow and oversees escalated process issues. Independently identifies and manages the resolution of exceptions and serves as a point of escalation. May coach operations process managers and team members .

  • Determines and/or drives change and improvement efforts in production and/or processes. May develop and oversee policy change and/or improvement. Ensures understanding, acceptance and support for business support services, methods, capabilities or initiatives through collaboration with executives, business partners and team members.

  • Ensures the business adheres to policies, procedures and regulatory standards. Independently resolves compliance issues and drives risk mitigation activities.
