The Allegheny Health Network (AHN) is recruiting a full-time Breast Oncologist to join our team located in Pittsburgh, PA .

Cancer Institute Highlights

  • New state-of-the-art Academic Cancer Institute facility with on-site medical oncology and radiation oncology services; dedicated patient supportive services team to include but not limited to mid-levels, nurse navigator, dietitian, social worker and financial counselor.

  • Candidates will join a multidisciplinary and skilled team with breast surgery, breast radiation oncologists, breast pathologists and radiologists. There is additional opportunity for breast leadership, guidance of breast early phase clinical trials, and clinical research.

  • Outstanding infrastructure exists to support success, including clinical grade somatic next generation sequencing (NGS) performed at AHN, an immune monitoring and research lab as well as a proteomics core lab.

  • Implementation of a system wide biomarker discovery program aimed at helping in the design and implementation of personalized cancer therapies.

  • Strong clinical trial support infrastructure.

  • Large network of 23 locations in Western Pennsylvania, accounting for >8000 new cancer patients per year

Job Duties

  • Primary responsibilities include inpatient and outpatient care, clinical/translational research, and medical student, resident, and fellow education.

  • Will coordinate patient care plans for breast patients requiring both SOC and protocol driven therapeutic interventions.

  • Candidates will have the opportunity to develop robust clinical, translational, quality initiatives and basic science research programs in a collaborative, state-of-the-art academic environment including cooperative groups.

  • Potential leadership opportunities available for candidates with experience.

Job Qualifications

Board Eligible or Board Certified in Medical Oncology/Hematology

Eligible for Pennsylvania License

Fellowship in Medical Oncology/Hematology

PhD/MD Graduate of accredited medical school with degree of Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO)

Completion of accredited residency and fellowship if required by specialty

Current PA MD licensure in good standing; current unrestricted DEA certificate
