Position Overview:

The Warehouse Automation Engineer will play a critical role in optimizing our warehouse and distribution center operations. This individual will be responsible for evaluating, implementing, and managing automation solutions that streamline processes, increase efficiency, and reduce costs. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in current automation trends, have a deep understanding of warehouse automation challenges, and possess strong project management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate Automation Solutions: Conduct in-depth analysis of warehouse operations to identify areas for automation and improvement.

  • Design and Implement Solutions: Develop and deploy tailored automation solutions that enhance operational efficiency, accuracy, and throughput.

  • Project Management: Lead or supervise automation projects from inception to completion, ensuring they meet performance, budget, and timeline objectives.

  • Integration and Testing: Oversee the integration of automation systems with existing warehouse management systems (WMS) and perform thorough testing to ensure seamless operation.

  • Troubleshooting and Support: Provide ongoing technical support and troubleshooting for automation systems to resolve issues promptly and minimize downtime.

  • Training and Development: Train warehouse staff and management on new automation technologies and best practices to ensure effective utilization.

  • Continuous Improvement: Monitor and analyze automation performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance system reliability and efficiency.

  • Trend Awareness: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in warehouse automation and incorporate relevant innovations into our warehouse operations.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including, but not limited to global logistics, operations, IT, and supply chain management, to ensure alignment of automation projects with overall business objectives and seamless integration with other operational processes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Automation, Robotics, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in automation or project management are a plus.

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in warehouse automation or a related field, with a proven track record of successful project management and system implementation.

  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of automation technologies, including conveyor systems, robotics, automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS), and material handling systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and execution.

  • Warehouse Operations Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of warehouse operations, including inventory management, order fulfillment processes, and supply chain logistics.

  • Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues effectively.

  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with team members, suppliers, and stakeholders.

  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range $144,000.00 - $163,000.00 USD

Pay is based on multiple non-discriminatory, individualized factors including but not limited to experience, job-related knowledge and education, skills and office/market location. In addition to base salary, salaried employees are eligible for annual discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing and, for Executive-level (salary grade 16 and above) roles only, long-term incentives in the form of Restricted Stock Units and/or Stock Options.

Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable benefits plans then in effect, all salaried employees are also eligible for a competitive benefits package which includes:

  • Insurance: Employees (and their eligible dependents) are eligible to participate in Company-sponsored Medical, Dental, Vision, Basic Life Insurance, Accidental Death & Dismemberment and Disability insurance plans.

  • Retirement Plans: Employees are eligible to enroll in Colgate's 401(k) plan, which provides for company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements

  • Vacation/PTO: Employees receive a minimum of 15 days of vacation/PTO leave annually

  • Paid Holidays: Employees receive a minimum of 13 paid/floating holidays annually

  • Paid Sick Leave: Based on location and consistent with applicable state and local law, employees receive a minimum of 40 hours of paid sick leave on January 1st of each year

  • Paid Parental Leave: Eligible employees may take up to eight weeks of paid parental leave and 12 weeks of unpaid leave (varies for employees with fewer than 12 months of service and is subject to hours worked requirements)
