The Rutgers Institute for Nicotine and Tobacco Studies is undergoing dynamic and transformative growth. The Rutgers Institute for Nicotine and Tobacco Studies is one of the nation's leading tobacco focused research centers and its faculty have received over $50 million in extramural funding over the past two decades. With a team of 15 full-time core faculty and over 20 skilled research and support staff, the Institute's efforts are focused on their mission of reducing and ultimately eliminating, tobacco-related morbidity and mortality. Five Centers or Programs currently operate at the Institute including a Tobacco Center for Regulatory Science, the Center of Excellence for Rapid Surveillance of Tobacco, the Tobacco Dependence Program, a Tobacco Industry Marketing Program, and a Tobacco Control Law & Policy Resource Center. The Institute is recruiting for a Research Track faculty position to support scientific activities related to the Center for Rapid Surveillance of Tobacco (CRST), under the direction of Cristine Delnevo, PhD, MPH.
Applicants should have demonstrated knowledge and experience in tobacco surveillance and/or tobacco regulatory science. Primary responsibilities in this position include conducting analyses, writing, and dissemination of findings from secondary data sources (e.g., NHIS, PATH, NSDUH, NYTS), participating in scholarly dissemination for all CRST components, and overseeing the timely delivery of reports and fact sheets for dissemination to federal, state, and other study partners, as well as the TRS research community and the public.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
An earned doctoral degree in a relevant discipline, such as public health, pharmacology/toxicology, health communication, public policy, health services research or degrees in medicine, nursing or other clinical fields who have advanced research training and experience are encouraged to apply.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge and experience in tobacco surveillance and tobacco regulatory science is essential, especially conducting analyses using secondary data and producing scientific products (i.e., publications, conference presentations) from the findings. Excellent project management and collaboration skills are required. We are seeking candidates with exceptional communication skills and a demonstrated track record in information dissemination to broad and diverse audiences through publications, presentations, and webinars. The ideal candidate will also have experience developing and managing extramurally-funded research projects.

Overview
Successful candidates will devote the majority of their effort to funded research activities within INTS, with limited time allocated to other duties (e.g., teaching, mentorship, and service). Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with a candidate's achievements.
