EDISON COMMUNITY COLLEGE Director of Career Pathways Advising in Piqua, Ohio

*Edison State Community College *invites qualified candidates to apply for the full-time position of Director of Career Pathways Advising. The Director of Career Pathways Advising will serve as a part of the Student Affairs leadership team and promote the active integration of the College's Career Pathways Advising model and related completion strategies within Student Affairs and throughout the college. The Director will participate in management decisions and implementation of policies and processes that affect student advising, retention, completion, and career planning. The Director will act as the administrator of Professional, Technical, and Transfer Advising, the Advising Resource Center (ARC), and will manage the Robinson Student Career Center.

Functional Responsibilities:

  • Lead and administer all aspects of advising services for all campus locations including implementation, training, evaluation, and modification of advising services. 
  • Manage programming, daily activities and scheduling in the Robinson Student Career Center. 
  • Provide operational supervision of student support services, including the Advising Resource Center (ARC), Disability and Accessibility Services, Veteran Services, Community Support Services, and Career Services.
  • Develop, manage, and maintain student facing processes and communication as well as staff procedures within the CRM system Advise.
  • Assist Enrollment Management Team with initiatives and processes related to the CRM system Recruit. 
  • Collaborate with the Student Affairs Leadership Team to develop and implement communication plans to encourage student onboarding, persistence, and completion. 
  • Evaluate current practices and develop strategic operating plans to maximize efficiencies and improve the student experience. 
  • Provide leadership to ensure the utilization of a variety of effective advising delivery systems and methodologies, promoting student success. 
  • Provide ongoing evaluation and strategic processes for the management of caseloads and accurate assignment of advisors (CPA and Faculty).
  • Assist with the streamlining electronic and non-electronic advising procedures, registration processes, and communications in areas of supervisory responsibility. 
  • Develop, oversee, and promote Strategic Retention Plan and activities for the college, providing opportunities for faculty, staff, students, and alumni to participate in these activities. 
  • Develop budgets for areas of responsibility and manage allocation of resources. 
  • Serve as International Student Advisor and Primary Designated School Official (PDSO). 
  • Coordinate new and returning student assessment practices, serving as an Accuplacer institutional administrator and coordination and implementation of the Multiple Measures assessment process. 
  • Participate in regular and on-going assessment and measurement of effectiveness of advising and retention initiatives. 
  • Other duties as assigned by the Dean of Enrollment Management & Student Affairs.
