Bell Piney Flats Overhaul Shop

Bring your technical experience and leadership skills to supervise the Bell Piney Flats Overhaul Shop. This role will be an integral part of the team and will supervise technical personnel, plan and coordinate with other departments, and ensure work is completed safely, compliantly, efficiently and on time to budget and schedule. You’ll be able to leverage your skills to help ensure the shop meets deliverables, while gaining leadership experience.

What you’ll be doing as an Overhaul Shop Supervisor

Ensure all components are in an airworthy condition prior to being returned to service, and that work order book, required signoffs, and other required action items are complete. Ensure departmental work is completed correctly, efficiently, and in compliance with all FAA, Repair Station, and other applicable policies and standards. Collaborate with other departments to ensure safe and timely completion of tasks. Ensure quoted hours and schedules are met.

Enable direct reports to successfully complete tasks by monitoring, coaching, providing feedback, acquiring resources, problem solving, listening, and coaching. Train personnel on proper Repair Station procedures and maintenance practices, ensuring each worker uses pertinent technical data and material.

Provide information for quotes and communicate with customers (internal and external) during regular work hours and beyond if necessary. Work with other departments to ensure correct parts are ordered for work to be performed, and that components are packaged and shipped correctly. Offer technical guidance to other departments and stakeholders as needed.

Recognize and reward employees' contributions. Conduct or assist with interviews, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions as required. Delegate leadership responsibilities and implement control systems to ensure accountability. Oversee upkeep of shop equipment and tools and cleanliness of workstations.

Qualifications

  • Technical background and understanding of component overhaul operations.

  • Familiarity with FAA policies, procedures and regulations.

  • Ability to develop talent.

  • Understanding of basic business practices.

  • Experience in customer service/support.

  • Ability to prioritize work for self and team.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a team player mindset.

  • Highly detail-oriented and self-motivated.

What you need to be successful

  • 5 years of experience working with component overhauls, preferably on Bell components.

  • Helicopter maintenance experience is preferred.

  • High school diploma or GED required. Additional education (ex. Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree) preferred.

  • FAA Airframe Certificate is required.

  • A&P Certificate is preferred.

  • Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Previous leadership experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 lbs., and to team lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to perform prolonged kneeling, squatting, sitting, crawling, and climbing stairs, ladders and work stands.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods during the entire duration of shift.

  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for handling small components and tools.

  • Flexibility to bend, stoop, and crouch as required for tasks.

  • Good vision, including the ability to focus on small details and identify defects.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding progress and potential issues.

  • Willingness to follow instructions and ask for clarification when needed.
