The Senior Director, Aerospace Communications, leads the Aerospace Communications organization and provides global leadership and oversight of holistic employee and executive communications for the business. This individual provides strategic internal communications direction, planning and execution in support of the Aerospace business. This role is responsible for partnering with leadership across the business to deliver compelling strategic messaging to create awareness, education and action with Aerospace employees around Aerospace business priorities and initiatives, while driving culture and engagement activities across the business. This position is also responsible delivering innovation through new, engaging communications channels, tools and tactics. This role reports to the Aerospace Vice President, Human Resources and Communications and matrix reports to the Honeywell Vice President, Communications.

Deep experience in message development and storytelling experience and prowess is a must as this individual will help guide efforts to consistently develop creative, compelling, and human-focused content that connects Honeywell employees with each other, leaders, and the company’s strategic initiatives. Fluency in and passion for analytics is also imperative as we seek to measure and interpret data that help us enhance our communication practices across the company.

The ideal candidate will be a confident, independent communications professional with a minimum of 10 years of experience, preferably from a corporate background and with proven track record of driving executive communications success. This individual should have outstanding executive presence and a keen interest in understanding a business, a strong orientation toward process and organization, and the ability to influence partners and clients in a highly matrixed corporate environment. Outstanding written and verbal communication are required, as is Associated Press Style.

Job scope:

  • Identify, develop and implement a holistic strategy and communications plans across Aerospace that meet business objectives and priorities.

  • Lead a high-performing team to deliver strong leadership of the Aerospace Communications organization to provide extensive support to help deliver business targets.

  • Develop and deploy extensive strategic, executive, organizational and change management communications tactics across multiple channels.

  • Responsible for driving initiatives and growth campaigns across the entire Aerospace organization.

  • Develop and deploy new, innovative tactics in support of delivering compelling messaging to employees across the business.

  • Coordinate and facilitate budget and vendor relationships, event management and project teams as appropriate..

    U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization

YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Minimum of 10 years of communications/journalism/marketing experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications/Journalism/Marketing .

  • Communications/journalism experience in a large complex organization strongly preferred.

  • The ability to think strategically and provide communications counsel to senior leadership and lead the development of communication strategies and plans to drive results.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills with a positive leadership style, high energy and flexibility.

  • Excellent writing and editorial skills as well as the ability to make clear, convincing presentations to senior management.

  • Ability to present technical and often complex information in a clear and compelling manner.

  • Strong project management and ability to execute.

  • Ability to communicate using a variety of media and channels through an innovative mix of traditional and non-traditional communications to engage employees in company programs/initiatives.

  • Self-starter with ability to thrive in a matrix organizational structure where priorities can shift quickly.

  • Ability to lead across borders and cross-functional teams and achieve consistent, measurable results.

  • Relationship building skills that enable the individual to influence thinking and outcomes through professional credibility.

  • Ability to manage multiple programs/projects simultaneously.
