Optiv Sr. Consultant - Federal Advisory Services | Remote, USA in Phoenix, Arizona

This position will be fully remote and can be hired anywhere in the continental U.S.

A Senior Consultant is an individual who operates independently without direct supervision who is responsible for leading the delivery of an engagement with the sole intent of providing immense value for Optiv + ClearShark’s customers. To be successful in this role, a Senior Consultant will be expected to not only maintain a mastery in a capability aligned with Optiv + ClearShark’s service practices, but also developing pathways towards future opportunities they would like to explore. Additionally, they will be expected not only to execute all tasks provided in a statement of work, but also be expected to lead a team of Associate, Level I, and Level II Consultants in their day-to-day operations and career development. This individual will be the most senior engineer on a project and will be expected to assist Associate, Level I, and Level II Engineers with tasking. Excellent communication skills along with sufficient leadership skills are essential for this role, as these individuals will interact with clients and engineers regularly in a leadership capacity.

This position is focused on compliance, specifically providing compliance related advisory services to include by not limited to FedRAMP, CMMC, and FISMA. This position will be responsible for delivering compliance related education and training, conducting compliance related assessments, and providing remediation recommendations to the customer.

How you'll make an impact

Strategy, Brand Leadership, and Operations

  • Contribute to thought leadership exercises about Optiv + ClearShark’s services portfolio, to include but not limited to: blog posts, social media engagement, workshops, and panels.

  • Oversee the creation of new Standard Operating Procedures.

  • Provide senior leadership with areas of opportunity to expand the Optiv + ClearShark services portfolio.

  • Propose and develop new advisory services offerings based on industry and government demand.

Engagement Delivery

  • Execute all tasks outlined in the scope of work and follow standard operating procedures with no direct oversight.

  • Lead discussions with clients to analyze and understand their needs and objectives.

  • Aid Associate, Level I, and Level II Consultants on sophisticated tasking.

  • Lead technical discussions with the client to understand their engineering requirements.

  • Lead the technical support strategy for clients during and after project implementation.

  • Serve as the escalation level for complex issues as necessary.

  • Document project progress, issues, and resolutions in a concise and timely manner.

  • Consistently self-review work to identify and improve approaches for producing high-quality work.

  • Review work of Associate, Level I, and Level II Consultants to assist in their approach for producing high-quality work.

Engagement Management

  • Monitor and approve timecards and expense reports for team members.

  • Serve as a level of mentorship for Associate, Level I, and Level II Consultants.

  • Perform annual performance reviews for each team member, as well as quarterly feedback sessions.

  • Report any issues with the team to senior leadership, as well as any kudos or positive feedback.

Sales and Client Engagement

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction.

  • Adhere to availability standards for responding to client inquiries.Lead the communication of technical concepts effectively to clients.Identify and communicate cross-sell and up-sell opportunities with the account team across services.

Talent Development

  • Demonstrate proactive engagement in obtaining and maintaining certifications and cultivating technical proficiency in accordance with industry standards.

  • Provide input to leadership on needed training and development.

  • Proactively engage with mentors for assistance and guidance as necessary.

  • Provide training opportunities to team members in various growth areas.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field

  • 5+ years as an auditor with a focus on FedRAMP and/or DoD IL 4/5 assessments

  • 2+ years providing FedRAMP advisory service (preferred)

  • 8+ years of experience in compliance management or assessment

  • Certified to conduct CMMC assessments (preferred)

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance if required.

  • Robust understanding of cybersecurity, and infrastructure concepts.

  • Strong understanding of governance and compliance, specifically with FAR, DFARs, CUI and CMMC.

  • Superior communication skills, especially in the ability to translate complex compliance requirements into easily understandable and actionable concepts.

  • Willingness to travel to meet client needs (estimated at 25%)
