ABOUT THE ROLE

Connect with us and design the world's most advanced avionics within the Electronic Solutions Platform Organization where we have an immediate need for a top-performing Sr Advanced Electrical Engineer to join our elite team that will innovate and create the hardware electronics that Aerospace runs on. We are seeking someone who brings the right experience leading avionics-based product designs within the Anthem / Thunderbolt Team. You will be part of a group of highly committed professionals who provide expertise to ensure the success of complex engineering projects and programs while acting as a mentor to more junior engineers. You will interact with internal and external customers to facilitate the completion of products to customer specifications. This position is in Phoenix Deer Valley, Arizona.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supports Product / Module development assignments, including supporting system trades, creating requirements, completing design, analysis, and testing in an engineering laboratory setting.

  • Collaborates with a global, multi-disciplinary team of systems, software, programable logic, and mechanical engineers.

  • Partners to reach effective solutions to medium to low complexity electrical engineering problems.

  • Assist in product and process certification for customer acceptance

  • Guide engineers, technicians, and associates to ensure project and product compliance

  • Suggest enhancements to advance projects

  • Support transition of products into production

  • Additional responsibilities may include qualification and verification testing of hardware

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.

MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.

  • Minimum of 5 years of hardware engineering experience

WE VALUE

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Aerospace or Computer Science Engineering.

  • Experience with modern processing technologies and architectures including micro-processors, FPGAs, memories, and high-speed IO is a plus.

  • Product level analog / linear circuits including signal conditioning is a plus.

  • Demonstrated experience performing product and circuit board design verification and qualification.

  • Demonstrated experience designing, simulating, analyzing, and verifying design performance to requirements.

  • Proficiency with Mentor Graphics X-petition Enterprise Design Flow (or related tool set), Mathcad, MS Excel, and LT-Spice.

  • Test Engineering experience including requirements-based testing.

  • Capability to complete demanding assignments by applying advanced hardware engineering methods and tools

  • Mentor and coach junior level engineers.

  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams to deliver optimal solutions

  • Knowledge of DO-254, Design Assurance Guidance for Airborne Electronic Hardware and RTCA DO-160 Qualification Guidelines is a plus.
