Honeywell Senior Director Payroll Phoenix, Arizona
As the Senior Director of Payroll, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing a best-in-class payroll and time & attendance team dedicated to delivering superior services for Honeywell Aerospace. In this position, your key objectives will include becoming an expert in the fields of both insourced and outsourced payroll, time and attendance, vendor management, reporting, and digital automation. You will lead the strategic vision and execution of payroll timelines and deliverables, effectively addressing internal and external business changes, market challenges, and regulatory issues.
Your role will involve driving and leading payroll automation and digitization initiatives focused on efficiency, improved processing, and net pay accuracy. Additionally, you will be tasked with advanced reporting responsibilities that provide visibility into spending, risk areas, severance, and other payments.
The Senior Director of Payroll will also oversee the strategic design and successful implementation of time and attendance systems, alongside various Human Resource Services (HRS) initiatives to ensure a consistent delivery process. You will lead multifunctional teams to deliver comprehensive solutions for end users while defining and implementing service strategies aimed at optimizing the customer experience and enhancing operational efficiency.
This position necessitates a balance between strategic vision, payroll compliance, operational oversight, and effective project management and implementation. You will engage frequently with senior leaders, HR Business Partners, and members of the HR Service centers. In collaboration with regional teams, you will identify opportunities to leverage best practices that manage and facilitate the payroll delivery model to drive business results. Moreover, your role will require creativity and innovative problem-solving techniques in partnership with business and HR leaders to implement critical payroll strategies and processes that align with organizational goals.
You will report directly to our VP HR Services Operations – Global Payroll, and you will work out of our Phoenix, Arizona location on a hybrid work schedule.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Implement payroll and time processes for Honeywell Aerospace
Assess the support model and development of strategy to ensure seamless support of Payroll and T&A solutions
Manage the overall coordination of the payroll platform migrations and implementations in the region ensuring quality and controls are in place
Lead integration between different systems and the Payroll application across business groups in the region
Manage M&A activity and ensure payroll applications are delivered and incorporated into local business processes
Champion technical governance, management of payroll application project portfolio, resources, metrics, and reporting
Provide strategic guidance and recommendations to senior leadership to optimize the payroll function and contribute to overall financial goals
Ensure all payroll and legislative deadlines are met across the payroll portfolio managing exceptions as necessary
Coordinate resources for providing functional and technical payroll expertise to the business at all levels, including production support, data analysis, customer issue resolution, and troubleshooting
Optimize payroll processes to reduce cycle time and manual processes that impact payroll accuracy
Interface with up/down stream systems and tools for efficient processes
Manage the interaction with other internal regional and global service delivery groups
Act as point of escalation for the team and customers ensuring effective handling and resolution of issues
Manage relationships with assigned key HR and Finance leaders, assuring transition plans are in line with business priorities
Partner with Business Units to implement digital business solutions
Track performance and measure operations to ensure that payroll delivers on requirements
Deliver monthly operations reports and reports out to Human Resources leadership as requested.

YOU MUST HAVE
7+ year of experience working in a HR Services role with payroll experience
Experience leading in a large organization
Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office and other HR systems or technologies
Bias towards process improvement and streamlining of data workflow with ability to develop and implement payroll strategies that drive operational excellence
Knowledge of Information Protection and Data Privacy legislation for the region
People management skills and leadership skills, including management of remote and virtual teams
Excellent communication skills at all levels in organization
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Bachelor's and advanced degrees in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local payroll policies and procedures, or similar relevant experience
Certification such as Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
SAP and Peoplesoft experience
