LOCATION: Phoenix, AZ

STATUS: Full-Time/Temporary (Seasonal)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Organized, articulate and detail oriented

  • Professional demeanor

  • Ability to handle high volume incoming calls

  • Computer literate in MS Office software

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Be a outgoing person who is comfortable initiating conversations with strangers/public on behalf of The Salvation Army and who will represent the organization in a professional manner

  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Answer incoming calls from public regarding Holiday programs and services

  • Respond to calls from staff and agencies regarding pick up or drop off of supplies and/or donations

  • Assist with gathering statistical information, especially weekly Angel Tree status reports

  • Assist with gathering supplies for special events and seasonal campaigns as assigned

  • Assist with preparing routes for Thanksgiving and Christmas Home Delivered Meals

  • Assist with preparing thank you letters to volunteers and donors

  • Respond to incoming calls/emails and assist in scheduling volunteers as assigned

  • Assist with volunteer & event activity logistics (i.e., directing volunteers to assignment locations, etc) including Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.

  • Assist in managing mailings to volunteers that confirm volunteer assignments

  • Other duties as assigned as they relate to the position of Office Assistant.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and reach with hands and arms on a continuous basis. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must have the ability to operate telephone, a desktop or laptop computer, as well as the ability to access and produce information from a computer, and to understand written information.
