Robert Half is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Release of Information Specialist (Customer Service Representative) to join our team for a pivotal role within a leading healthcare organization. This role involves managing the release of medical information requests, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and providing exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders. The ideal Release of Information Specialist will have a strong background in healthcare information management and customer service, with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of privacy and confidentiality. This Release of Information Specialist role offers the opportunity to play a crucial role in the operations of a leading healthcare organization. This is a remote opportunity based in the great Phoenix area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process requests for the release of medical information in accordance with company policies, HIPAA, and other applicable regulations.

  • Communicate effectively with healthcare providers, patients, and third parties to handle requests efficiently and resolve any issues.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all release of information requests and actions taken.

  • Ensure the confidentiality and security of all patient records and information.

  • Provide high-quality customer service, assisting with inquiries and providing information as needed.

  • Work closely with healthcare professionals and other team members to ensure a smooth and efficient process for the release of information.

    Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Experience with high volumes of Release of Information requests to patients, providers, next of kin, and legal offices.

  • Familiarity with HIPAA and other healthcare compliance regulations concerning patient information and privacy.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with a diverse range of individuals.

  • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
