Public Consulting Group Operations Analyst 1 in Phoenix, Arizona

Overview

PCG's Financial & Strategic Solutions (FSS) Center of Excellence (COE) within Health is seeking an Operations Analyst 1 for the Shared Solutions Group (SSG). The Operations Analyst 1 will ideally have data management skills within a health setting. PCG Health supports hundreds of healthcare providers and State Medicaid agencies to complete, review, and process Medicaid and Medicare cost reporting requirements. Throughout these project efforts the operations team is responsible for the intake of financial and statistical data and developing tools for the categorization of cost data by the business team leads. They complete the aggregation and automated input of data into approved Medicaid cost report templates, ensuring the accuracy of the calculation of results, completing quality assurance processes to ensure cost of data reconciles back to source files, and perform trend analyses to identify outlier issues.

Responsibilities

Duties & Responsibilities:

Data Management

Assess and transform Excel data to be compatible with pre-defined templates.

· Load data into pre-defined templates and confirm correct entry and interaction with automated functions.

· Identify and communicate data quality issues and summarize requirements for follow-up.

· Validate data management tasks performed by other team members.

· Manage a queue of data management tasks with prompt delivery and clear communication.

Data Analysis and Validation

· Produces reports on collected data within mandated time frames.

· Conduct financial analysis of cost reports including trend analysis, variance analysis, and root cause data investigations.

· Gather and interpret cost and/or ratio data to identify variances and trends, create reports and perform advanced analysis when necessary.

· Perform “desk audits” of cost reports, validating data submitted against supporting documentation.

· Creates Tableau analytics and other reports as necessary.

Quality Assurance and Control

· Performs multiple levels of quality control on various data sources.

· Works collaboratively with colleagues to complete necessary desk and compliance reviews.

· Monitor and track data received for projects.

· Complete quality assurance checks for assigned projects.

Client Service

· Communicates with internal clients about data discrepancies, missing information, needed documents, upcoming deadlines, and status.

· Appropriately escalate issues within the Team.

Works within a team to accomplish other duties on the project to meet necessary deadlines.

Other

· Special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel, Access, and Word.

· Experience with database software or visualization tools is also a plus.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred but will also consider similar experience.

Experience: 1-3 years of analytical work - working in office or corporate environment required; proficiency with MS Office suite required; Experience with or knowledge of Medicaid, Healthcare, Education, and/or customer support is beneficial.

  • Remote work setting

  • Low to no travel expected (maximum 10% travel)

Compensation

Compensation for roles at Public Consulting Group varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, PCG provides the following reasonable range of compensation for this role: $45,000-$55,000. In addition, PCG provides a range of benefits for this role, including medical and dental care benefits, 401k, PTO, parental leave, bereavement leave.
