Honeywell Lead System Engineer - Data Validity in Phoenix, Arizona

In Test, our product is data. Many of our external customers have requirements on the quality of the data we provide and our own Engineering Design teams rely on quality test data for decision-making. Our industry is driven by standards, such as ISO/IEC 17025 that guide the requirements for measurement uncertainty.

The successful candidate will be the technical expert on how each component in our many measurement systems influences system level measurement uncertainty (the data we deliver). You will be working directly with Metrology as well as Engineering, and Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) test to understand, characterize and improve measurement systems including static and dynamic temperature, pressure, vibration, torque, frequency, strain, force, thrust, air flow, fluid flow, voltage, current, and rotating measurements. You will build upon recent analysis by adding new components into a growing measurement uncertainty analysis tool and will be tasked with managing the publishing of the results internally in a way that all test data stakeholders can access uncertainty based upon tailorable measurement chains. This role will also be responsible to ensure that all test stakeholders understand their requirements (users/customers) and capabilities (suppliers/Test).

Key Responsibilities

  • Calculate and validate uncertainty of measurement system components and complete measurement system chains for all measurements being made in support of E&PS-owned tests (may include verification of 3rd party test house measurement systems).

  • Implement uncertainty calculations into existing data monitoring systems and equipment

  • Train others and validate their calculations.

  • Evaluate Instrumentation, Measurement and Test Equipment (M&TE), Signal Conditioning, and Data Acquisition Systems based upon requirements and capabilities.

  • Establish cross-site standards for Measurement Uncertainty Analysis (MUA) process, forms, and standard methods of archiving the MUA forms, and training engineers on the proper methodologies and processes.

  • Oversee measurement uncertainty matters with metrology suppliers.

  • Occasionally assist Tempe, Torrance, Mexicali, or South Bend for MS&C Mechanical Test under the Data Validity scope.

  • Partner with various project teams to reach effective solutions to complex engineering problems

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.

YOU MUST HAVE
