Clean Harbors InSite Program Manager in Phoenix, Arizona

Clean Harbors in Mesa, AZ is looking for an InSite Program Manager to join their safety conscious team! This position will be supporting the execution of various client environmental management programs. The Hazardous Waste Program Manager serves as the client’s main contact and primary interface with Clean Harbors daily. They are responsible for and manage the client’s hazardous waste program at the client location in Mesa, AZ.

Key Responsibilities

Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;

  • Oversees waste activities at a group of generating locations;

  • Is the main contact for waste management/minimization issues;

  • Generates waste labels and assures containers are properly marked and labeled;

  • Manages all aspects of shipments of waste off the respective sites;

  • Ensures overall compliance and Health and Safety;

  • Ensures that quality service is being provided;

  • Ensures all waste collected is stored and disposed of in compliance with laws and regulations;

  • Ensures no waste is stored beyond 90 days;

  • Performs daily inspections of 90-day storage areas and 90-day pads when visiting the site;

  • Creates profiles for new wastes;

  • Creates associated manifests and LDRs for waste shipments;

  • Reviews facility waste receiving reports to identify potential issues;

  • Prepares required reports .

Tasks

  • Responsible for all Clean Harbors' activities and programs on customer’s site.

  • Manage and coordinate the efforts of the all Clean Harbors onsite employees.

  • Enlist Clean Harbors' corporate resources as needed to ensure 100% customer satisfaction.

  • Assist with managing customer’s air, water and hazardous waste programs.

  • Manage and track facility wide “cradle to grave” waste generation, storage, and disposal.

  • Responsible for proper packaging of waste to maximize efficiency and maintain compliance.

  • Schedule transportation and disposal for outgoing wastes as needed.

  • Provide waste tracking reports as needed.

  • Maintain adequate levels of equipment for emergency responses and ongoing projects.

  • Scope special projects and provide estimates.

  • Assist customers with compiling data necessary for completing the Generator's Annual Report and other required reporting functions.

  • Conduct facility wide compliance audits to include inspections of staging, accumulating and storage areas to ensure proper housekeeping procedures and compliance.

  • Provide weekly status reports to facility management.

  • Utilize CHOICE waste management software to efficiently and accurately manage waste program.

  • Familiarity with EPA, DOT, NRC, and applicable state and local regulations.

  • Working knowledge of Profit and Loss management.

  • Working knowledge of Safety.

What does it take to work for Clean Harbors?

  • High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s in chemistry, biology, or environmental science preferred;

  • 2+ years of hazardous waste experience;

  • Familiarity with regulatory state requirements of Small and Large Quantity Generators.

  • REQUIRED: CHMM certification, 40 hr OSHA training, DOT training, Valid Drivers license with clean driving record, Class B/C with Hazardous materials
