Are you an experienced database engineer with remarkable skills in multiple cloud platforms? This position might be your chance to shine! We are on the lookout for a brilliant Cloud Database Engineer to join our client's Database Engineering team. This team focuses on setting up operational database technologies and designing architectures for optimal use of database technologies across our organization, both on-prem and on public cloud environments.

Your role as a software/infrastructure engineer involves deploying and running relational or NoSQL databases in AWS and GCP, evaluating new and upgraded cloud database offerings, and providing clear documentation and insights on optimal techniques, patterns and best practices to our Application Development, Database Administration, and Operational Support teams.

Job Requirements:

• DB certifications in cloud Platforms – AWS and/or GCP

• Hands-on experience with relational databases (Cloud SQL, AlloyDB, Spanner, Aurora, Postgres, Oracle) and/or NoSQL databases (Cassandra, MongoDB, DynamoDB, Firestore, Bigtable)

• Knowledge of DBMS concepts such as ACID, CAP and consistency

• Proficiency in designing and implementing database GDHA, HA, DR and fault-tolerant DB architectures

• Familiarity with DB provisioning automation, monitoring, and maintenance using scripting languages (Ansible, Python) and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform/AWS Cloud Formation)

• Experience in database security including encryption, access controls, Active Directory, RBAC, and compliance standards.

• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools for continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD)

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Collaborating with the DB Engineering team to review progress on assigned tasks

• Working independently and with team members on new DB technology and integrated services in AWS and GCP

• Defining, testing, and documenting standards and best practices, developing run books, and providing training to developers and DB support teams on new cloud DB technologies, features and integrated services.

A bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Requirements • Must possess proven experience as a Cloud Database Engineer or similar role

• Demonstrable proficiency in Amazon CloudWatch and Amazon EC2 is required

• Strong knowledge of Ansible and Atlassian Jira is essential

• Prior experience with Auto Scaling and API Development is necessary

• Proficiency in Automation and AWS Technologies is a must

• Familiarity with Backup Technologies and Cluster Analysis is crucial

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
