Job Title: Branch Sales & Buyer Support

Pay & FSLA Status: Competitive Compensation, D.O.E.; Hourly non-exempt

Regular Schedule & Shift: Monday – Friday; Day shift

Regular Weekly Hours: Full-time/40 hours per week (overtime as needed)

Paid Time Off (PTO): 80 hours accrued year 1; 120 hours accrued annually after year 1

Paid Sick Time: 40 hours annually

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Branch Sales & Buyer Support performs a basic range of administrative duties to support the sales and purchasing teams.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Enter customer and vendor orders.

  • Enter intercompany transfers.

  • Verify that order acknowledgments are accurate.

  • Process co-op claims and supplier returns.

  • Responsible for finalizing and issuing purchase orders to assigned vendors for designated product lines throughout the workday.

  • Review supplier confirmations for accuracy, related to order details, specifications, branch information, pricing, quantities, and expected delivery dates.

  • Maintain responsible and accurate records with regard to purchasing, pricing, and deliveries. Troubleshoot and problem-solve receiving errors by reviewing received versus ordered; work with Receiving department to resolve issues as needed. Serve as the primary contact to the supplier when working through discrepancies.

  • Complete projects and data entry as assigned.

    REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Knowledge base in building materials is preferred, but not required.

  • This person should have a professional demeanor in representing the organization, and generally be friendly and confident.

  • Commitment to and demonstration of high ethical standards governing professional behavior and interactions.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Excellent data entry skills.

  • Ability to write routine correspondence and to speak to customers in a professional manner.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Strong problem-solving skills.

  • Strong multitasking skills.

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with the ability to re-prioritize tasks throughout the day based on changing needs and direction while maintaining a positive attitude.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Strong customer service orientation.

  • Excellent detail orientation skills.

  • Adjusted typing speed of minimum 60WPM.

  • Ability to compute basic math problems to include addition, subtraction, and multiplication.

    REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).

  • At least 1 year of experience in an administrative field.

  • Any combination of education, training, or experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position will be accepted in place of the education and/or experience requirements listed for this role.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Regularly required to see, talk, and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, the ability to adjust focus, and peripheral vision.

  • Ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.

  • Occasionally required to lift/move/manipulate up to 50 pounds.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • The noise level in the work environment is generally quiet.

  • This position operates in a professional office environment.

  • This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers, and smartphones.

    DRESS CODE:

    SAFETY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Report all incidents and accidents to one’s immediate supervisor immediately or within 24 hours.

  • Maintain the work area in a safe and healthful condition.

  • Report, and whenever possible correct, unsafe working conditions to branch leadership.

  • Operate vehicles while in the course of employment in a safe and lawful manner.

  • Provide assistance to reduce or eliminate workplace hazards.

  • Comply with company drug testing policies and procedures.

  • Comply with company Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) policies. OrePac will provide required PPE to employees.
