Backed by 50 years of design know-how, we combine science and applied technology with sound business strategy to solve complex transportation infrastructure challenges for today and tomorrow. Our assignments include small and medium-sized bridges, culverts, railroad grade separations, viaducts, and major water crossings in both rural and urban environments. TRC is seeking a Transportation Construction Inspector to join our Construction Engineering and Inspection Practice in Pittsburgh and throughout Pennsylvania (statewide). The ideal candidate must have at least 5 years of transportation construction experience including experience working on PennDOT, Pennsylvania Turnpike, highway and/or bridge projects is preferred. Responsibilities: Inspect various facets of work on the construction site. Take field measurements and perform calculations. Prepare relevant inspection reports. Verify that appropriate materials and construction processes are being used. Ensure that construction conforms to the project plans, specifications, and special provisions. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: One (1) year minimum PennDOT experience as a Transportation Construction Inspector 1 (TCI-1) or higher and has one (1) of the following three (3) certifications: PennDOT Concrete Technician Certification, NECEPT Field Technician Certification, or NICET Level II Certification or higher in Highway Construction, only NICET Certifications in Highway Construction are allowed unless special circumstances of other NICET subfields are requested for Central Office approval. Or Three (3) years minimum of transportation, highway, or bridge construction inspection experience, and has one (1) of the following three (3) certifications: PennDOT Concrete Technician Certification, NECEPT Field Technician Certification, or NICET Level II Certification or higher in Highway Construction, only NICET Certifications in Highway Construction are allowed unless special circumstances of other NICET subfields are requested for Central Office approval. Or Four (4) years minimum transportation, highway, or bridge construction inspection experience. Or Five (5) years minimum of highway or bridge construction or highway or bridge design experience and non- 7 inspection personnel must successfully complete the twelve (12) web-based TCI training modules. Or Holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management. Or Holds an active Professional Engineer-s License. Note: Associate degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management may be substituted for two (2) years of experience.
