Wharton's Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Initiative is looking to hire a Research Assistant (Temp Worker) with excellent analytical research skills, strong data analytics skills, and a keen interest in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors. We are looking for a recent graduate to work part-time (up to 29 hr/wk) for roughly the next 6 months.

Job Description

The Research Assistant(s) may be expected to work on one or more of the following tasks during their time with the ESG Initiative.Amassing detailed dossiers of the financial materiality of ESG factors including, but not limited to, indigenous rights, the climate transition, and labor practices.Following climate activists and their coordinated efforts to hold firms accountable for their climate commitments and impacts.Studying the ESG related disclosures and actions by large multinational firms.Other ESG-related research as needed by ESG Initiative affiliated Principal Investigators. Requisite skills and interests for competitive Research Assistant(s) candidates:Strong Data analysis skills, web-scraping and NLP preferredDiscounted cash flow modelingInvestigative research/journalismInterest in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factorsComparative international management and comparative economical/sociological analysisData management/analysis software skills (Python, R, STATA, excel) This role is open to recent graduates with a strong focus/experience with data analysis and web scraping, please reach out to ESG Initiative Research Manager, Alex Pappas (alexpap@wharton.upenn.edu) if you have questions about this role.
